Natürlich wieder einmal die ganz große Philanthropie-Nummer, diesmal mit prominentem Namen. Da meldet sich angeblich Gina Rinehart höchstpersönlich, die australische Milliardärin, Geschäftsfrau und Vorstandsvorsitzende von Hancock Prospecting, und teilt mit, dass sie 25 Prozent ihres Vermögens bereits gespendet habe und die restlichen 25 Prozent im Jahr 2026 an Privatpersonen verschenken wolle. Der glückliche Empfänger sei auserwählt worden und solle 2.000.000 Euro erhalten. Bei Interesse bitte melden, und zur Beglaubigung gibt es noch den Wikipedia-Link.
Das Ganze ist die klassische Impersonation-Variante des Spenden- oder Lottery-Scams.
Eine echte, bekannte Persönlichkeit wird missbraucht, damit die Geschichte glaubwürdiger klingt. Die echte Gina Rinehart verschenkt weder per Massenmail Millionen an Fremde noch kommuniziert sie über eine Outlook-Adresse wie gina.gina.rine.hart@outlook.com. Der Wikipedia-Eintrag dient nur als billige Kulisse, um den Eindruck von Seriosität zu erwecken.
Was folgt, ist vorhersehbar: erst die Kontaktaufnahme, dann die üblichen „Bearbeitungsgebühren“, „Steuern“, „Transferkosten“ oder sonstigen Vorauszahlungen, bis das Opfer wieder einmal leer ist.Wer auf so etwas hereinfallt, hat nicht nur sein Geld verloren, sondern auch den letzten Rest an Realitätssinn. Löschen, blockieren, weitersagen und sich nicht wundern, wenn die nächste angebliche Milliardärin mit großzügiger Spendenabsicht schon im Posteingang wartet. Die Betrüger haben weder Scham noch Grenzen – nur die unerschütterliche Zuversicht, dass irgendwo immer noch jemand dumm genug ist, an die spontane Großzügigkeit echter Superreicher per Outlook-Mail zu glauben. Die australische Polizei brennt darauf, die Scammer zu finden.
